Earnest Edwin McVey, 59 of Steele. Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at his home. He was born on November 17, 1957 in Booneville, Mississippi to the late Robert Herman and Ellen Mize-McVey.

He enjoyed fishing, going camping, bird watching, and spending time with his family and friends. Earnest was proud to have served his country in the Airforce. Survivors include; his wife of twenty six years Sherry McVey of the home; one son: Jeremy Powell and wife Ashley of Armorel, Arkansas; two daughters: Amber Phillippe and husband Ben of Omaha, Nebraska; and Keisha and husband Stacey of Cooter, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Abby, Devin, Peyton, Makayla, Addison, Brittany, and Jaxon; one great-grandchild: Owen; one brother: Gary McVey of Booneville, Mississippi; four sisters: Carolyn Fuerspenburg of Wisconsin; Peggy Land of Florida; Wanda Brown of Boonesville, Mississippi; and Martha Owens of Houston, Missouri; and a host of other family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and three brothers. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Corinth National Cemetery, Corinth, Mississippi with Pastor Keith Skelton officiating.
