Evelyn Talley, 95, of Wichita Falls passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Anchor Baptist Church with Pastors Charles Bartlett and David Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Evelyn was born on May 7, 1922 in Lometa, Texas to the late Sam and Clara (Davis) McLean. She and James (Jim) Talley were married on April 10, 1943 and were married for 65 years. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper, taught Sunday School alongside her husband, and was a charter member of Anchor Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading, and cooking. She also loved planning, and preparing for family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 4, 2008; parents; three brothers; one sister; and son-in-law Melvin Just.
She is survived by sons Jimmy of Wichita Falls, and Richard and wife Cindy of Corsicana; daughters Cathy Just of Duncanville, and Linda Bartlett and husband Charles of Wichita Falls; 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchidren; one great-great grandchild; sister Alyce McLean of Brownwood; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Owens and Brumley in Wichita Falls.
