He was a graduate and letterman athlete at LCHS, then served two years in the US Navy, stationed at Pensacola, FL.
He married Norma McDaniel on May 5th, 1946. They made their lifelong residence in Lawrence. He worked at IPALCO for 39 years, retiring in 1989.
Ed enjoyed many hobbies through the years such as golf, card-playing and home improvements on their five-acre property, including a 19-stall horse barn he built in the 1970’s. His true passion was gardening and he was well-known for plentiful and delicious vegetables, shared with loved ones and sold at a very reasonable price to neighbors.
