Obituary for Mary Louise Wilson

Bluefield, VA- Mary Louise Wilson, 99, of Carrington Place, Wytheville, VA, and formerly of Bluefield, VA, died Thursday August 31, 2017.
Born May 30, 1918 in Peterstown, WV, she was a daughter of the late Everett Taylor Baker and Lucille Tabor Baker.

Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and was a member of Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Sarah Creasy Circle. She made her home at Carrington Place where she made many friends who she loved to help and where she enjoyed feeding the birds. She was active in activities and loved to sing, play the piano, and loved flowers. She loved her weekly visits out to Cracker Barrel for apple pancakes with her granddaughter, Buffy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Webster W. Wilson; and siblings, Edith Shrader, Fannie Bailey, Bill Baker, Blaine Baker, Nellie Caldwell, Vernon Hopkins, and Zane Anna Mahood.

Survivors include two children, Ronnie A. Wilson and wife Tyra of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Anita Wilson Smith of Melbourne, FL; sisters, Charlotte Baker of Lexington, KY, and Virginia Epperson of Mud Fork, VA; three grandchildren, Buffy Jones and husband Mark of Brushfork, VA, Melissa Mitchem and husband Craig of Bluefield, VA, and Justin Smith and wife Liz of Melbourne, FL; five great-grandchildren, Austin Phipps, Hannah Jones, Savannah Phipps, Sydney Phipps, and Lucian Stephen Smith; sister-in-law, Pauline Baker of Bluefield, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will conducted on Sunday September 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Petty officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where Charlie Shrader, Brady Gordon, Mark Jones, Craig Mitchem, Denver Riffe and Bob Jones will serve as pallbearers.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions can be made to the Sarah Creasy Circle, c/o Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church, 1901 Virginia Avenue, Bluefield, VA 24605.
