On 24 Nov 1868 Edward, 30, married Abbie L. Waters, 29, daughter of William and Catherine Waters, at Cumberland, Providence County, Rhode Island.
On 20 Oct 1906 at Worcester, Massachusetts, Edward Anderson attended the 40th annual reunion of the 15th regiment association, with some 75 other veterans of the regiment.
He died on 6 May 1913 at Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, of a "sarcoma of the hew." He was 74 years, 10 months and 15 days old.
