Mrs. Annabelle Taylor Lovill, 90, of Mount Airy, passed away to be with the Lord with family by her bedside at Forsyth Medical Center ICU in Winston-Salem, NC on Friday, September 1, 2017 in the wee hours of the morning. Born March 7, 1927 to the late Perry Nichols Taylor and Margaret Elmina Inman Taylor, she was a lifetime member of White Plains Friends Meeting, having accepted her Savior Jesus Christ as a child. Remaining to cherish her memories are sons Edward F. Lovill, Jr., Perry N. Lovill, and Peter M. Lovill along with fiance` Natalie A. Kowalchuk; as well as former husband, Edward F. Lovell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lovill was also preceded in death by her sister Peggy M. Underwood, and brother Samuel V. Taylor. Mrs.Lovill was a 1944 graduate of White Plains School, and earned a bachelor's degree from Guildford College in 1948. Married in 1951, she taught school at various locations during her lifetime including White Plains, Thomasville, King, and Walnut Cove, NC as well as Roanoke, VA. In addition to being a wife, mother, and homemaker, she enjoyed painting in various mediums, including acrylic, watercolor and oil, and had several pieces displayed at local art shows, including at least 1 honorable mention at a Benton Convention Center showing. She was also active in the choirs of many of the churches she attended over the years as her husband's work called for family relocations, and her beautiful soprano voice was also captured on vinyl by the late Roy Epperson at WPAQ on several occasions. She had been a recent resident of several nursing homes in both Mount Airy and Winston-Salem, NC over the past 9 years. Visitation and viewing will be from 6-8pm on Monday, September 4th at Moody Funeral Services of Mt. Airy, NC, with memorial services to be held on Tuesday, September 5th in Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 3pm, with burial to follow at the White Plains Friends Meeting cemetery.
