The son of Henry and Elizabeth Toon, widower of Eliza Fish, and husband of Cassie Craft, Dr Toon resided and practiced allopathic medicine on Frankfort Avenue in the Clifton neighborhood. He died of asthenia and stomach neuralgia at the age of 58, and was interred at Cave Hill on 1 December 1898.
