Leona K. Galey
MATTOON — Leona K. Galey, 87, of 521 N. 18th St. died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday (July 21, 1984) in Douglas Nursing Center.
The funeral is set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Schilling's Funeral Home, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 2, 1897 in Humboldt Township, the daughter of Rudolph and Minnie Durdel Knollenberg. She married Leonard Galey, who died in 1962.
Survivors include a son, Carl of Mattoon; a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Geraldine) Creek of Mattoon; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Galey was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mattoon and the Esther Davis Circle.
