Served in Prussian Army
Herman Balting, age 81 years, native of Berlin, Germany, died at his home in Freeport at 11:30 o'clock Saturday night. Mr. Balting served in the Prussian Army from 1871 to 1873 and came to this country in 1881.
He owned and operated the Freeport Mill for thirty-five years and retired in 1925. Mrs. Balting's death occurred
in 1925. The deceased is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Louise Sommers, of Indianapolis, and a nephew, Fred Balting of Freeport.
Funeral services will be held at the Freeport Methodist Protestant Church at ten o'clock Wednesday morning with the Rev. Clawson officiating. L. V. Hauk is the funeral director in charge.
