Mary Ohmart was born April 1, 1922, in Findley, to Arthur and Sula Swartz Melcher. She married Donald A. Ohmart Nov. 19, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo. They were married for 39 years. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1981, in Fairbury.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Ray Ohmart, in Austin, Texas, in October 2005.

She is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Mary had a strong faith in God. She was a longtime member of Saunemin United Methodist Church, where she was past president of the United Methodist Woman's Club and was in the Parent Teacher Association. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, oil painting and gardening.

She will be remembered for her smile and positive attitude.
