Burial will be in Forest Park. Mr. Averett died at 1:08 a.m. Monday in Highland Hospital. A native of Claiborne Parish, he had resided in Shreveport for 50 years.
Survivors include two sons, D. E. Averett, Monroe, and W. O. Averett of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. C. E. Sompayroc, Winnfield, and Mrs. W. J. Baker of Pocahuntas, Miss.; a foster daughter, Mrs. Virginia Rodgers of Halfbrouk Heights, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.
