It would appear the person buried here is a child of Fred L. and Adda (Addie) L. Knox Humes. This belief is based on the facts that Fred Lester Humes, who was born in Wisconsin in 1858, was residing in District 54 (Clifton Township), Spink County at the time of the 1885 Dakota Territory Census. In addition, WWI Draft Records show that Fred and Addie Humes’ son, Thomas L. Humes, was born at nearby Frankfort, Spink County on July 18, 1889.
Although there are no records to substantiate it, it is reasonable to believe these are children or un-named infants of Fred L. and Addie Knox Humes.
