She married the love of her life, Francisco B. Garcia, on December 23, 1953, in Clairmont, TX. Lydia and Frank had 64 wonderful years together; side by side, they walked through this life together.

Lydia was a very loving and compassionate woman. She made sure her family had everything they needed; often putting their needs above her own. Not only did Lydia take care of her children, but acted as a mother figure to many children whose lives she touched.

Lydia loved to cook and was very skilled in the kitchen. She always cooked with a smile, which was one of her ways of showing her love; with good food. Especially her famous tea cakes, no one made them better.

Lydia was also a very wise woman, well beyond her years. She was already ready with advice for whoever needed it. Lydia was loved and respected by everyone that knew her, she was also known for being very straight forward. You always knew where you stood with her. Her family describes her as very loving, detail orientated, wise, and the backbone of the family. Lydia will be dearly missed by all those that knew her and loved her.
