Inscription

Sacred to the memory of Isaac Spooner Esquire who departed this life in the faith and love of his God and Saviour trusting only in Him and looking of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Exemplary in all relative duties he departed with the regret of all who knew him; but especially of his family. His afflicted widow, having for forty-six years experienced his affectionate kindness, must to her latest day lament her loss; but is consoled with the hope of soon meeting him again in the presence of their Redeemer. He died June 1st 1816 having completed his 80th year. He built the mansion house at this place; and finished it in the year 1795.
