OBITUARY: Mary Ann Collier Bollmann, March 26, 1931 ~ July 31, 2017 - reprinted from the Hill Funeral Home website

Mary Ann Eggers Collier Bollmann, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 31, 2017, at the Prescott Care Center in Prescott, Wisconsin.

When she was born at home on March 26, 1931, she had been declared dead by the attending physician, but later, after he left, she was revived by her mother. She is survived by her sister Tillie, four children, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren. Mary Ann married Donald L. (Little Don) Eggers in March of 1948. Together they reared four children, Bruce, Steve, Chris, and Cindy.

She was a devoted wife and mother, caring for her family all of her life. Known as Aunt Mary Ann, she cared for the children of many friends and relatives throughout the years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and made sure that her children received the appropriate Christian training. Mary was a stay at home mom for many years and did not get a job outside of the home until her children were all in school. Her first job was as a dessert cook for Prescott Public Schools. Later after she moved to Prescott from the farm, she got a job preparing mobile homes for sale, and then later worked at Smead’s in Hastings for many years.

Mary Ann was a very energetic woman, refinishing furniture and gardening while living on the farm. For many years, the family lived outside of Prescott on a farm along Highway Q where the kids enjoyed farming, gardening, and other outdoor activities. They and many others enjoyed her good cooking. She was able to make many wild game treats that everyone enjoyed.

While life was not always easy, she never was too tired to help and always shared what she had. While living in the country she invited the whole church youth group out for a sledding party and then had them in for hot cocoa and refreshments when they finished.

While oldest son Bruce was going to college, he met and made friends with Bruce Rawling from Chicago. As he didn’t have a place to stay after school was out, he was invited into our home and became part of the family. He called her mom and we mourned his loss when he was killed in Viet Nam. She loved all her children and their families dearly.

Mary Ann was part of a large family of brothers and sisters of which Mathilda (Tillie) only remains. Raymond, Ralph, Arvin, Adolf Jr (Bud), and Henrietta; all three of her husbands, Donald Eggers, Robert L. Collier, and James Bollmann; and son Bruce Rawling, all preceded her in death.

She is survived by her four children, Bruce (Maryann) Eggers, Steve (Debbie) Eggers, Chris Mailand, and Cindy (Bill) Marek; fourteen grandchildren, Jodie (Dan) Hei, Heidi (Victor) Santiago, Jeremy Marek, Matthew (Shannon) Marek, Shanon (Michael) Allen, Brian (Sharla) Eggers, Jon Coverdale, Scott Coverdale, Brenda (Marty) Schroeder, Tina (Rodney) Eshleman, Tracy Land, Timothy Eggers, Michael Eggers, Jennifer (Randy) Rosenberg; thirty two great grandchildren, Trevor and Elisha Hei, Victor Jr. and Sofie Satiago, Daisy and Brayden Marek, Noah and Owen Marek, Sommer and Seth Allen, Gabriel and Peyton Eggers, Jasmin Eggers-Midwell, Beau Bryant, Stephen and Spencer Coverdale, Brittany, Christopher, and Joshua Cecco, Benjamin Eshelman, Kalynn Johnson, Jeremy and Aaron Land, Jordan Brown, Jon Eggers, Joseph Cassillas, Keagan, Desirea, Olivia, Jocelynn, Randy III, and Emilia Rosenberg.

A Funeral Service for Mary Ann will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2017 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prescott, WI. A Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial to follow at Pine Glen Cemetery in Prescott.
