Raymond John Hanken, 89, Prescott, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at Regina Medical Center, Hastings, Minn. following a two year battle with heart disease.
Ray was born Dec. 3, 1915, the son of Adolph and Henrietta (Bohlken) Hanken. He married Margaret McMullen in 1944, celebrating 54 years of marriage. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and baseball. Ray was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Prescott.
Ray was a 25 year employee of the 3M company at the Chemolite plant.
He is survived by his children: Marcia (Larry) Rust, Hastings, Minn.; Patricia (Richard) Welliver, Cottage Grove, Minn.; Raymond A. Hanken, Prescott; John (Mary) Hanken, Sr., Hudson; Ruth (Tony) Ptacek, Prescott; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Mary Ann Bollman, Prescott; Tillie Most, Prescott; Adolph "Bud" Hanken, Prescott; His wife, Margaret, son, Douglas, parents, brothers, Ralph and Arvin preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Ray will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 2:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Prescott. Rev. Richard Durow will officiate. Burial will be in the Pine Glen Cemetery, Prescott. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the church and for one hour before the service on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be: sons, John Hanken, Sr., Raymond A. Hanken; sons in-law, Larry Rust, Tony Ptacek and Dick Welliver, and grandson, Aaron Hanken.
Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1048 Campbell St., Prescott, WI 54021.
