Annie Hulene Corn Petrea, 86, of Faith, North Carolina died Saturday, October 22, 2016 after a period of declining health.

Ann, the oldest of four children, was born on January 15, 1930 in Durham County to Claxton Lee Corn and Addie Barger Corn Abernathy. Ann was a 1948 graduate of Granite Quarry High School.

She married Clyde Bruce Petrea on August 15, 1948 and had three children; Troy Petrea (Janice) of Granite Quarry, NC, Pam Frick (Mel) of Pensacola, FL and Alison Shue (Tim) of Faith, NC, as well as seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband Clyde; and sister Rose Corn.

She served as a children's Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Women's Missionary Union and sang in the church choir and later, the Senior Adult Choir. Ann retired from the Rowan/Salisbury School System.

Above all, Ann was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. The family wishes to thank the staff at Genesis HealthCare Rehab and Nursing Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Faith Baptist Church Mission Fund.
