Albert Franklin Beckenholdt, 92, of Mansfield, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday (July 25, 2017) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Franklin was born on Feb. 10, 1925 in Farmer City, the son of Willard J. and Bertha Hender Beckenholdt. He was named after his Uncle Albert Hender and grandfather Franklin Hender. Franklin married Lois Jean Shapland on Aug. 15, 1948 in Bloomington and were married 59 years. Lois passed away on Feb. 3, 2008.

Franklin is survived by his daughter, Linda Mayback; grandchildren, Chris Mayback, Tara (Dave) Jacoby and Timothy Beckenholdt and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Paul Beckenholdt; a daughter-in-law, Mary Beckenholdt and son-in-law, Joe Mayback.

Franklin attended Moore High School for three years and transferred to Mansfield High School where he graduated in 1943. He enjoyed farming and lived on the farm his entire life. He loved his great-grandchildren and spending time with them brought him tremendous joy.

He will be dearly missed by all of his family. The family would like to send a special thank you to Larry and Karla Ruch for their help throughout the years.
