Williard Eugene Rose, 81, of Dyersburg, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Dyersburg Healthcare.
He was born on May 12, 1936 in Dyersburg, TN, to the late James Columbus Rose and the late Melvie H. Hammonds Rose.
Williard was retired from the City of Dyersburg Water Department, where he worked for over 30 years. He was a member of Dyersburg Church of God and was a former member of the Dyersburg and Newbern Saddle Clubs.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Dyersburg Church of God with the Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sorrells Chapel Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Donna DeFosse Rose of Dyersburg; a daughter, Tammy Rose Moore and husband, Roger, of Dyersburg; two sons, Stephen Rose and wife, Cindy, and William Heath Rose and wife, Gale, all of Dyersburg; a sister, Dessie Mae Capps of Dyersburg; four grandchildren, Josh Rose, Daniel Rose, Tanner Rose and Hunter Rose; and two great-grandchildren, Kaley Rose and Madison Rose.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Carlson Rose; six brothers, Harold Rose, Thurmon Rose, Alton Rose, Cecil Rose, Carlos Rose and Conway Rose; and five sisters, Katie Caviness, Hazel Agee King, Ruth Apple, Hazel Brown and Katherine Ramsey.
Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
