Norma graduated from Danville High School in 1943 and enjoyed letting others know she went to school with Dick and Jerry Van Dyke. She attended night school for painting; she enjoyed oil painting and crossword puzzles and worked for Block-Kohl Department Store. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church and was a former member of the ladies circle.
On November 14, 1943, Norma married Theodore L. "Ted" Russell. She and Ted ran the Ben Franklin and together celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. Ted survives with children, Steven (Margaret) Russell, Philip (Gwen) Russell and David (Debbie) Russell; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one brother, Mike (Barbara) Ross.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
