Randall Vee Simkins, 68, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017, in Springville, Utah, after a short battle with cancer.

Randy was born June 6, 1949, in Provo, Utah, to Ray Vernon and Mabel Averett Simkins. He attended schools in Springville, graduating from Springville High School. After graduation, he attended Snow College where he obtained an Associate’s Degree.

Randy worked for Thorn Construction until it closed. He then began his 37 year career at Geneva Rock before retiring to his little sheep farm and two dogs. He lived in the Simkins family home his entire life. He loved the neighborhood and his great neighbors. He will long be remembered for his countless acts of kindness and service along with his great sense of humor and quick wit. He was always there when you needed him, probably before you even realized you needed the help.

He is survived by his brother, Jim (Helen); and nephews: Scott Dolinar and Justin Simkins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Norma Rae Dolinar; brother-in-law, John Dolinar; and nephew, Daniel Dolinar.
