Emmette was a mechanic until his retirement. He and Ruth Kersey were married October 14th, 1942, in Blair, Oklahoma.
Emmette was preceded in death by one son, Jesse Clyde Franklin; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Duby; two brothers, Ernest and Eugene Baze; and two sisters, Eula Faye Hobson and Maarie Keir.
Survivors include his wife of 65, Ruth Franklin of the home in Hastings; four children, Ann and her husband Don Manning of Pumpkin Center, Okla., Paul Franklin of Pumpkin Center, Barbara and her husband Darrel Adair of Putnam, Okla., and Kay and her husband Michael Duby of Hastings; seven great-grandchildren, Mieka Duby, Brandon Staack, Marc Franklin, Daniel Adair, Jeannie Adair, Shawna Duby, and Shelly Bassham; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Duby, Trinity Bassham, Ty Bassham, and Bradley Duby; two brothers, Leroy Baze and Jody Baze, both of Noble, Okla.; three sisters, Rubilee Baze of Oklahoma City, Pauline Tarp, and Imogene Farley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Franklin were at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
