She was born October 24, 1910 in Knifley, Kentucky to the late Oscar and Ora Mae Arnold.
She was the oldest living graduate of Lindsey Wilson College.
Mrs. Christie was a member of East Brainerd Baptist Church and the Fidelis Class. She was also in the Sunshine Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Feese Christie; son, Jackie Lewis Christie; daughter, Joyce Elaine Christie; son-in-law, James Douglas Turner; great-granddaughter, Olivia Johnson; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Turner of Trenton, Georgia and Elizabeth (David) Thompson of Rock Springs, Georgia; brother, Edwin Arnold; sisters, Nina Sublett, Yneth Broughton, and Justine Knifley; eight grandchildren, David Thompson, Jr., Frank G. Henley, Jr., Tonya Carol Henley, Chad Everette Henley, Robert Wallace Thompson, Jack Allen Thompson, Mark Justin Henley, and Rebecca Anne Johnson; fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 14, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Rev. Clay Moreland and Rev. Joel Southerland officiating.
Interment will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
