Preston G. Henman
1924 ~ 2017

Preston G. Henman, 93, passed on July 8th, 2017, from an extended illness.

Preston was born April 15th, 1924 in Albion, Nebraska. He graduated from Twin Falls High School. In 1943, Preston joined the Army Air Corp and attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, in order to earn his bombardier wings. After flying over 20 missions in Europe during WWII, and 26 during the Korean War, Preston retired as a Major from the Air Force Reserves in 1968.

On August 22, 1945, Preston married the love of his life, Beatrice Caldwell of Twin Falls, Idaho. He and Bea moved to Boise and raised their two sons, Brian and Brent, in the Treasure Valley, where they remained active in their church and in the community. Preston worked for over 38 years at Idaho Power, retiring in 1986, after which, he and Bea moved to the Oregon coast and later to Vancouver, Washington. In 2000, the happy couple moved back to the Boise area to be close to family once again.

Preston and Bea's church home is Ten Mile Christian Church. Preston loved the Lord and liked to play golf and create beautiful gardens.

Preston is survived by his wife, Beatrice Henman, his son Brian (Sandra) Henman of Meridian; his daughter-in-law Holly Henman of Puyallup, Washington; grandchildren Lara (Greg) Espin of Scottsdale, Arizona; Monica (Rob) Reagan of Boise; Matthew Henman of Boise; and Preston Henman of Tacoma, Washington, and 4 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and recently, his youngest son, Brent Henman of Dallas, Texas.

A memorial service for Preston will be held at Ten Mile Christian Church on Monday, July 17th, at 1:00pm. He will be laid to rest prior to that the Idaho Veterans Cemetery, in the presence of family.
