Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Christian church for Mrs. Henry Spaulding who passed away at an Omaha hospital last Thursday evening. Rev. F. S. Spaulding, brother-in-law of the deceased, conducted the services which were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
Eva Pearl, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Henman, was born January 20, 1905, near Albion, Nebraska and passed away at the Covenant hospital in Omaha on Thursday evening, May 21, 1936, after an illness of several weeks duration. She bore her suffering with patience and fortitude, ever trusting in her Lord to work out His purpose, and being resigned to His will.
Eva received her education in the schools of Boone County, graduating with the class of 1924.
On December 25, 1929, she was united in marriage with Henry Spaulding. To this union was born a son, James Henry, who lingered only long enough that she might be permitted to wear the name mother. The passing of this little one was a sorrow from which she never recovered. She was a devoted Christian woman, true to her Lord and His church where her influence will be greatly missed; a loving daughter and a devoted and loyal wife, one in whom the heart of her husband did safely trust.
She was preceded in death by one brother, little Kermit. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, her father and mother, 3 brothers, Owen of Nevada, Mo.; Dale and Preston at home; two sisters, Lucille and Gertrude, also at home, her aged grandmother, Mrs. Rohanna Allen of Albion; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Henman of Lincoln, besides a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
