Kathryn Elaine Beede Burnett Dillingham, 81, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017.

She was born on August 12, 1935 in Ogden, Utah, the youngest of three children of David William and Dorothy Emily Adams Beede. She was raised in Ogden, attended Washington Elementary, and later Ogden High School, graduating in 1953.

She married Rulon David Burnett on November 20, 1953 in Ogden, and they had five children together. Dave passed away in 1965 in an accident while the family lived in Montana. Kathryn married Richard Land and they had one son. They later divorced.

In addition to being a devoted homemaker, Kathryn pursued her higher education and worked in real estate for a number of years, but her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren.

Kathryn loved ballroom dancing, painting, and was an accomplished seamstress. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and love of hosting. Kathryn also loved writing short stories and was working on her autobiography before her recent illness.

Kathryn is survived by her children: Michael Burnett, of Garden City, Russell (Kristy) Burnett, of West Point, Julianne (Gary) Nielsen, of Roy, Daniel Burnett, of North Ogden, Tina Bushnell, of Ogden, and Todd Land, of Cottonwood Heights; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. David; parents: brother, William Beede; and sister, Barbara Briggs.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.

The family thanks the loving, caring staff of Lakeview Hospital and of Legacy Hospice for caring for Mom.
