JASPER COUNTY NATIVE DIES IN K.C. HOSPITAL
Mrs. Frances Alice Smith, 56, Kansas City, died at 4 p.m. Saturday at North Kansas City hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had been ill since last May.
Mrs. Smith was born October 14, 1914 in Jasper county where she had resided most of her life-time.
She moved to Kansas City eight years ago.
Mrs. Smith was employed as a waitress at the Holiday Inn in Kansas City and was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors include her step-mother Mrs. Hattie Brown, Reeds; a son James M. Haggard, 1033 James; a daughter, Barbara Ann Lipscomb, Kansas City; two brothers George E. Brown Jr., 1011 West Centennial and Carroll Brown, Kansas City, seven sisters: Mrs. C. L. Sanders, Baxter Springs, Kans; Mrs. Robert Shaunce, West Plains; Mrs. Glynn Evans, 1722 Glenwood Place; Mrs. Warren Frantz, route 3, Mrs. Quintin Burel, 503 West Centennial; Mrs. Mary Hopper 1222 Hazel; MRs. Alpha Moore, Joplin, and a granddaughter Miss Lisa Lipscomb, Kansas City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ulmer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Hensley officiating.
Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
