'Grant' Ulysses S. Grant Geiger was born to Mary Kuhns [Geiger Flaherty Farrell] and Daniel Geiger, both of Pennsylvania. He was one of 8 children born to Mary & Daniel Geiger-- his siblings include Sarah Ann, Sylvester Fulmer, Lewis Loannin Loami, Columbus 'Lum' Kuhns, Elmay Josephine, David Charles, and Mary Ethelda Geiger. Grant's mother Mary Kuhns married two additional times; 2) Patrick Flaherty [1856-1882], and 3) Thomas Farrell [1854-1930]. Grant has two additional siblings Thomas Wesley Flaherty & Mary Elizabeth Farrell, and Thomas appears to have been adopted by Mary's third husband Thomas Farrell. Grant married Mary Elizabeth Lightner Miller on September 20, 1887. Grant and Mary had one child between 1910-1920, who did not survive to 1920. Grant's nephew Forrest Geiger (12 years old) was living with him in 1900.
