He graduated from Coldwater High School. On April 1, 1956 he married Vivian Baker in Orland, Indiana. After serving ten years in the U.S. Navy, he drove truck for various companies, including his own. He retired from Teamsters in 2007. Throughout his adult life, his passion was owning, racing and working with horses.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, a daughter, Teresa Booher of Coldwater, granddaughter Erin Barber of Battle Creek, grandson Justin Barber of Athens and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Wanda Harrelson, sister Burna VanCleave and brother Larry Booher.
