Kenneth L, Curtis, 86, of Winslow,IN., went to be with his Lord Sunday, July 2, 2017, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Kenneth was born October 14, 1930, in Winslow, IN, to Paul L. and Delta Leo (Bass) Curtis. He graduated from Winslow High School in the Class of 1948, Oakland City College in 1957, and the Indiana School of Mortuary Science. He owned and operated the Curtis Funeral Home in Winslow for over 50 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1951-1953. He married Mary Martha Long, June 11, 1955 in Pike County, IN.
He was a member of the Winslow General Baptist Church, a trustee of Oak Hill Cemetery in Winslow, was on the Bd. of Directors of the General Baptist Nursing Homes. He loved music and sang in quartets over the years. He was a loving husband , father and grandfather. He set the example of taking care of those you love.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Martha, two daughters, Terenda (Dale) Wyant), of Belleville, IL., Trea McCandless of Petersburg, IN., two granddaughters, Erin (Josh) Laurion, of Fairview Heights, IL, Chas (Paul) Brewster, of Petersburg, IN; one great-granddaughter Alice Jewel Laurion of Fairview Heights, IL; three great-grandsons, Seth (Kerstain) Phillips, Clay Phillips of Washington, IN., Quentin Brewster, of Petersburg, IN., two great-great granddaughters, Vayda Myers, Kylie Phillips, one great-great grandson, Jackson Philips, all of Oakland City, IN., sister-in-law, Marcia Curtis, of Santa Claus, IN; nephew, Stuart Curtis of Santa Claus, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Todd Curtis; son-in-law, Lawrence Buster McCandless; great-great granddaughter, Abby Phillips; brother, Clayton Curtis; niece, Karen Fulk.
Funeral services for Kenneth will be 2 p.m. EDT Saturday, July 7, 2017, at the Winslow G.B. Church. Visitation will be 2 until 8 p,m, EDT Friday at the church.
Burial will be Oak Hill Cemetery in Winslow, IN.
