Phyllis Jenoise Cogdill Brooks Barclay was born to Robert Gerdis Cogdill and Vaude Ethel Taylor Cogdill on July 21, 1921 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. She passed away on June 26, 2017, less than one month from her 96th birthday. One of seven children, Jenoise attended a one room school in rural Kiowa, Co. called Elk View School, until she entered high school in Hobart, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1938.

She continued her education at the Hobart Junior College studying Journalism. After Junior college she was employed by her brother Guy Cogdill at the Hobart John Deere Dealership as bookkeeper/secretary. She worked there until her marriage to Earl Wayne Brooks, on May 25, 1940.

To this Union was born four children: Linda Marie Brooks Morris, Terrell (Doc) Wayne Brooks, Guy Elton Brooks, and William Anderson Brooks. Earl Brooks passed away on Nov. 11, 1985. Jenoise married Louis James Barclay in Oak Dale, California on March 3, 1990.

Jenoise was a stay at home mom during the earlier years of her young family. Needing to contribute to the family income, she attended Cosmetology School in Oklahoma City. She worked at this profession for over forty years, loving her customers like family.

After retiring she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren as much as possible. She loved playing any kind of game, especially with the grand kids, and enjoyed this up until a week before her death.

Jenoise was a faithful member of the Granite Church of Christ. She loved her Lord and loved singing the hymns.

Jenoise was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Guy Cogdill, Iris Van Kuran, Irma Carmichael, Ala Reeves, Eloise Cogdill and baby sister, Cressy Cogdill; her two husbands, her sons, Guy Elton Brooks and William Anderson Brooks.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Morris and husband Paul, Granite, her son Terrell (Doc) Brooks and wife Tina of Canadian, Ok., daughter in law Anne Brooks, her step daughters, Chelesta Barclay, Lou Ellen Reasor and step son Randal James Barclay, all of California. Seven grandchildren; Shannon Morris Wood, and Bruce Schultz Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Sharra Morris, and Shawna, Moore, Ok., Shelly Brooks Holt, Landon Brooks and wife Candice, Mangum, Ok., Cody Brooks, and wife, Jennifer, Stratford Ok., Tina Devin Brooks and Chrissy Brooks Hughes and husband Shannon; Alabama, and nine great grandchildren, Connor and Nathan Wood, Highlands Ranch, Co.; Orian Brooks, Stratford, Ok. Skylynn and Rylyn Holt, and Jackson and Jenna Brooks all of Mangum, Ok. and Max and Aubree Jackson, Alabama.

Funeral services for Jenoise Barclay will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Granite Church of Christ with Ken Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Granite City Cemetery
