Miss Augusta Travis died suddenly on Monday last, at the home of her niece at Bloomfield, N. J., in her 78th
year. Acute" kidney trouble was the cause of death. Miss Travis was born in PeekskILl, the daughter of Wright Travis and
Charlotte Van Rnskirk. Since girl- hood she resided in Brooklyn, being a frequent visitor to Peekskill, wh«-re her brothers resided About i»igbt
years ago she went to Bloomfield to reside with her niece, Mrs. Wm Bennett.
While in Brooklyn, Miss Travis was an active worker In The Congregational church of that city. She was a singer of note. The deceased is survived by one brother. William Travis, of this village, and many nieces and nephews. The remains were brought, to Peekskill on Thursday and funeral services were held from the home of her nieces at 103R Howard street, at 2 p. m. The interment was at Hillside.
