BROCK- At the County Hospital, March 7, 1892, John Brock, native of Illinois, aged 60 years.
During the Civil War John Brock enlisted as a private at Fort Humboldt, California, on September 21, 1863, and later that same day he was mustered into Company E, 1st Battalion, California Mountaineers. Private Brock was mustered out at Fort Humboldt June 14, 1865. After the war he remained in Humboldt County where he filed for a Civil War veterans pension December 26, 1891, and received application No. 979,994. John died March 7 the following year before a certificate number was issued.
