Obituary for Douglas Lynn Gosnell
A celebration of life for Douglas Lynn Gosnell will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Parish of the Most Precious Blood, Berryhill, Oklahoma. Douglas passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. He was 74 years old.
Douglas was born in Crooked Creek Township, Jasper County, Illinois on January 15, 1942 to Calvin and Avanelle (Burton) Gosnell. He grew up on a farm and worked on farms during his youth in Illinois. Douglas graduated from high school in Newton High in Illinois.
In 1963 Douglas began a successful career at Delta Airlines as a Service Agent that spanned 36 years. Upon his retirement, Douglas was able to enjoy some more of his favorite pastimes including gardening and woodworking. An avid gardener, Douglas loved being outdoors and spending time in the garden. He was also a skillful carpenter creating many book cases, cabinets and refinishing furniture and antiques. Memorials may be made in Douglas’ name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Oklahoma Chapter, 2448 E. 81st St., Suite 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137-4250.
