Ezekiel Huckabee was born 4 Dec 1836, in Warren County, Tennessee, the first of 11 children born to William & Jemima McGregor Huckabee. His mother died in 1859 (most likely of complications of childbirth)in Pontontoc County, Mississippi, when Ezekiel was 23.

Ezekiel served with company G 31st Mississippi Infantry during the Civil War.

In 1860, Ezekiel's father married Martha Holbert who bore 2 more children. Martha died before 1865, and William then married Nancy Wilson.

Ezekiel married Sarah Shaw 26 Jan 1861, and they had at least 7 children. It is unknown whether George Huckabee who is buried by Ezekiel is Ezekiel and Sarah's son. Sarah died sometime before 1876 in Pontontoc County, Mississippi.

Ezekiel moved to Coryell County, Texas where he met and married a widow, Minerva Ann Hall Smith. They married on Christmas Eve in 1876 in Coryell County, Texas. Ezekiel & Minerva Ann had no children together. Minerva Ann died 13 Jan 1898 and is buried next to Ezekiel.

About 1900, Ezekiel married a widow named Ellen (maiden name unknown) Harrell. She had a daughter, Esteel who lived with them.

Ezekiel died 30 Nov 1902 and is buried next to his second wife, Minerva Ann in the Sipe Springs Cemetery in Comanche County, Texas.
