Carliss “Jean” Young Carroll, of Hilliard, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at home with her family surrounding her with love.
She was born November 7, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio.
She lived her younger years in Grandview Heights, and graduated from Grandview Heights High School.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward S. Carroll Jr., son Edward S. Carroll III, parents Carl W. and Janice (Fox) Young, sister Joan Scott, nephew Jim Scott, great granddaughters Elizabeth Jean Poehler and Linli Jude VanHouton.
Jean was known for her quick wit and laughter. She never knew a stranger and would start a conversation with anyone, anywhere.
Survived by her 7 loving children Bobbie (Russell) Young, Donna (Bob) Johnson, Lu Ann (Dan) Dougherty, Kathy (Brian) Herbert, Carol McDaniel, Tom (Diane) Carroll and Mike (Sue) Carroll, plus the one she called her 8th child, Patrick L. Riley. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, Kristy (Scott) Poehler, Rick Riley, Keri (Chris) Bartucci, Jerry (Charissa) Johnson, Allison (Aaron) Thompson, Dani Michael, Rob Dougherty, Cliff (Shannon) Rece, Bobbi Jean Laakso, Miki (Mark) Fisher, Lani (Tyler VanHouten) Smelser, Chris (Desi Parker) Cooper, Carli (Theo Johnson) Cooper, Nicole (Hesston Winters) McDaniel, Rachel (Ricky Smith) Carroll, Jackie Carroll, David Carroll and Andrew Carroll. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, soon to be 26, several nieces and nephews, cousins Don K. Skillman and Judi Skillman Trainor, several bonus grandchildren and bonus great grandchildren and loving pet and companion Brutus.
