Joseph Posadas of Bristol died Wednesday (March 29, 2000) at Hartford Hospital. He was 78.

He was born in Westfield, Mass. He was employed at Adams IGA Supermarket in Bristol and had been an assistant engineer at New Britain General Hospital. He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and Franklin Lodge No. 56, both in Bristol.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Fasci Posadas; three daughters, Dori L. Posadas of Bristol, Jean Dutch of Belfast, Maine, and Carol Blanchard of Plainville; three brothers, Angelo Posadas of California, Phil Posadas of Plainville and Anthony Posadas of Bristol; three sisters, Mary Osle of Plainville, Angela Kaine of Bristol and Isabel Cassidy of Plainville; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church.
Burial, with military honors, followed in Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol.

Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, handled the arrangements.
