Mrs. Joan Krider Weaver, age 81, of West Jefferson, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Born in Todd, NC, March 18, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Dick and Ida Wilcox Krider. She was a graduate of Beaver Creek High School. Mrs. Weaver was a very active member of West Jefferson United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, her loves were her flowers and her grandchildren. As a ministers wife, Joan served alongside her late husband and supported him in his various ministerial calls.
She is survived by one daughter, Joallen Lowder and husband Trent of West Jefferson, two sons, Matthew Weaver and wife Judy of Pawleys Island, SC and Charles Weaver of West Jefferson, two grandsons, Henry and Joseph Lowder of West Jefferson, one brother, Jasper Krider of Washington State, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Rev. A. B. Weaver and several brothers and sisters.
