Penn Yan: Martin Andrews Jr., age 91, of Penn Yan, NY passed away Wednesday September 24, 2014 at home.

Friends are invited to call from 5-7 pm Tuesday (Sept. 30) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where his funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm with Rev. Lucinda O'Leary officiating. Burial will be private in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company, or the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837; or to Ontario-Yates County Hospice Assoc., 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, NY 14456.

Martin was born August 13, 1923 in Dundee, NY, the son of the late Martin D. and Ethel M. Spears Andrews Sr. He served in the U.S. Army Field Artillery during World War II. On Jan. 22, 1943 in Watkins Glen, NY he married the former Esther Ruth Radka who passed away on August 14, 2013. A lifelong area resident, who worked as a farmer and in construction for many years; he was the owner of the former M & E Sunoco in Penn Yan, and Marty's Auto Parts in Barrington until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Andrews was a past member of the Penn Yan Elks B.P.O.E. #1722, the Loyal Order of The Moose Lodge #823, in Geneva, and the Penn Yan American Legion and VFW.

He will be missed by a son James Martin (Myrna) Andrews of Dundee, a daughter Carol L. Cadwell of Penn Yan, 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a brother George Andrews of Starkey; a sister Shirley Radka of Penn Yan; and countless nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 2 granddaughters Rachel Andrews in 1986, Karen Conklin in 2003; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
