WILL ROE SUDDUTH

TAYLORS, Aug. 22 - Will Roe Sudduth, 81, one of the oldest residents of the Pleasant Hill community, died at 6 a.m. Monday at his home, Taylors, Rt. 1. He had been in declining health seven years and was seriously ill two weeks.

Mr. Sudduth was born and had spent his entire life in the Pleasant Hill community. He was a son of the late Jasper M. and Elizabeth Odom Sudduth. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for a long period of years. He and Mrs. Sudduth had celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertie Van Patton Sudduth; three daughters, Mrs. A.L. Arms and Mrs. H.L. Sudduth of Greer, Rt. 3; Mrs. M.K. Robertson of Taylors, Rt. 1; three sons, Fred Sudduth of Greer, Rt. 2; John and Willie Sudduth of Taylors, Rt. 1; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was the last member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Fay Lanford, the Rev. M.A. Woodson, the Rev. Charlie Thompson. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers, Lawrence and C.D. Sudduth, Vardry and Homer Howard, Theron and Bill Styles.

Honorary escort will be Deacons of the Church and W.P. Morrow, James Hightower, Morris King, Lewis Belcher, J.L. Hawkins Jr., Alvin and Marshall Lindsey, John T. Ashmore Sr., and Dr. T.E. Coleman.

The body is at the home. It will be placed in the Church at 3 p.m. Wood Mortuary is in charge.
