Obituary.

Amanda Ulery was born in Bath County, Kentucky in 1847 and died at her home near Latham on January 10, 1916, at 6:45 p.m. being almost 69 years of age. She was married to W.P. Baird at Owensville, Kentucky in December 1863. To this union were born 13 children, seven of whom survive her, five boys and two girls. She made a profession of religion and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. They removed from Kentucky to Kansas in 1875.

The deceased was a loving and devoted mother. Patient and kind in sickness and resigned in her own suffering and death.

Funeral services were held from the home at 2:30 on Wednesday Jan. 12th, 1916, conducted by Rev. H.J. Hassard of Latham. Scripture Lesson Psl. 23 and 1 Thess 4:13. Text of funeral sermon 1 Thess 4:14.
