1903-1988 - Violet E Wolfe Shields Obituary
Mrs. Violet E. Shields, 84, formerly of East Liverpool, died at 7:08 a.m. today at the Hutton Nursing Home in Salem where she was a patient a week.
She was born Oct. 6, 1903 in EL, a daughter of the late Martin E. Wolfe and Elizabeth Wines Wolfe.
Mrs. Shields moved to Lisbon three years ago to reside with a granddaughter, Mrs. Terry (Charlotte) Morris. She was a member of the East Liverpool First Church of the Nazarene.
Her husband, Hobart H. Shields, died Aug. 27, 1967.
Besides Mrs. Morris, survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Dennie (Grace E.) Ours of Wellsville, Mrs. Ira (Gladys M.) Means of Glenmoor, Mrs. June R. Church and Patricia Shields of Lisbon, Mrs. Wayne (Florence M.) Reed Sr. of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Shirley J. Guterriz of Baden, Pa,; three sons, Raymond H. Shields, James E. Shields and Jack H. Shields of East Liverpool; 33 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services are to be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Yellow Creek Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening.
