Mable Godfrey Leatherwood, 86, of 760 Gray Street went to be with the Lord, Monday, May 29, 2017.
A native of Spartanburg County, she was born August 9, 1930 to the late George (1896-1976) and Viola Knighton (1900-1988) Godfrey and was the widow of James Everette Leatherwood. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are five daughters, Mary (Ted) Green of Cross Anchor, JoAnn (Doug) O'Shields of Roebuck, Donna (Phil) Cook of Gray Court, Shirley Leatherwood of Woodruff and Tammy (Tracy) West of Woodruff; four sons, James Leatherwood of Woodruff, Robert (Jackie) Leatherwood of Woodruff, Wayne Leatherwood of Woodruff and Mike (Teresa) Leatherwood of Greenville; one sister, Audrey Lankford of Woodruff; one brother, Robert (Rachel) Godfrey of Woodruff; 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Josephine Leatherwood and one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Baptist Church by Rev. Michael Cooke, Rev. James Manning and Rev.Phil Cook. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
