Rip was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Gertrude Ripley.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Joanna Ripley; sons, Rodney (Tammy) Ripley, Brian (Darlene Wetzel) Ripley; daughter, Elaine (Rick, former son-in-law) Williams; sisters, Kathryn Ernest and Susan (Frederick) FitzPatrick; brother, Ronald (Joyce) Ripley; 3 grandchildren, Wesley and William Ripley, Kelsey Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
Rip was a veteran of the US ARMY. He retired from Elmira Correctional Facility.
He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, bowling, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. Rip was always willing to help those in need and was very involved in Habitat For Humanity, Meals On Wheels and Centenary United Methodist Church, now New Beginnings United Methodist Church.
