Ralph Richard Mahoney, 90, formerly of Lowell, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Marietta, Ohio, where he and his wife recently resided.

He was born on June, 12, 1926 at Rainbow Creek, in Lowell, Ohio, to the late Jenny Warren and Charles Mahoney.

Ralph attended Fisher School and served our country during WWII in the Navy, from 1944 to 1946. He owned/co-owned the Lowell, Beverly and McConnelsville IGAs for 33 years, retiring in 1991. Ralph and his wife were residents of Lowell for 68 years. Ralph was a member of the Evergreen Bible Church in Williamstown, where he was a Deacon, served on the Washington County School Board, and was on the Citizens Bank Company Board of Directors for 29 years.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Jean Hupp Mahoney, whom he married on March 16, 1947; his daughter, Alicia Stevens (Darren) of Lowell; two grandchildren, Joshua and Chloe Stevens; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Mahoney, on February 20, 2009; four sisters, Florence Pape, Gertrude Dawson, Arvilla Wesp and Gladys Lothes; and three brothers, Clarence, Charles and Raymond Mahoney.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Bible Church on 9th Street in Williamstown, with Dr. Steve Thibault officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, with full military honors.
