Kalispell--James Leroy Clayborn, 75, born in Havre and a former Great Falls resident, died Thursday, Nov. 28, in Kalispell. He was living at Immanuel Lutheran Home at the time of his death.
Cremation has taken place. A family service is planned in the Spring of 97 on the Missouri River where the family "caught the big ones."
He was born in Havre on March 6, 1921, to Nona and Ivan Clayborn, and was one of eleven children.
On June 1, 1946, he married Virginia Rapsch. Both James and Virginia enjoyed camping and fishing and regularly shared this weekend event with their three children.
He served in the Air Force for 20 years as a baker and 10 years civil service at Malmstrom Air Force Base.
After his wife's death in 1989, he moved to the Flathead Valley. He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Glen. Survivors include a daughter, Amber Hartong; and a son James Lee Clayborn, Kalispell; and two sisters, Doris Christenson of Hungry Horse, and Jonnie Gunstone of Helena.
