Mr. Rema Grubbs, 84, of South Carolina Highway 304, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston. Burial will be in Double Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Grubbs, a native of Barnwell County, was a former employee of Palmer Furniture Co. and a member of Double Pond Baptist Church, where he was a member of adult Sunday school class No. 1.

The family said he was an avid gardener and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife, Edith H. Grubbs; one son, James D. Grubbs, Columbia; one daughter, Nancy G. Bolen, Orangeburg; one brother, Melvin Grubbs Jr., Barnwell; four sisters, Reba Dyches and Louise Odom, both of Blackville, Elizabeth Black, Hilda, and Eliza Connor, North Charleston; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
