Erma Barbee Furr of Locust, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Monroe Rehabilitation Center in Monroe.

Erma was born April 9, 1922 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Walter Chaney Clark and the late Nealie Eltis Clark. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Hoyle Barbee and second husband, Edger Furr; daughter, Madelyn Carole Efird; son, Hoyle Dwight Barbee; and two grandsons, Chris and Steven Barbee.

A graveside service was Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the First Baptist Cemetery, 320 South Central Ave., Locust officiated by Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace.

Survivors include two sons, Tommy Barbee and Randy Barbee both of Midland; five grandsons, Landon and Russell Efird, Chad, Brian and Barrett Barbee; granddaughter, Alexis Hughes; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Jackson and Bryan Barbee, William, Emily and Sadie Hughes, Kassidy, Hailey and Aurora Efird; and great great granddaughter, Mila Efird.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is assisting the Barbee family with Mrs. Furr's arrangements.
