Eltis Clark Burleson Morton, 84, of 32286 Laton Road, Albemarle, died Oct. 21, 2008 at Stanly Manor.
She was born Aug. 19, 1924 in Stanly County, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed floral work, especially art and taught art to children in her home. She was a member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Olen Floyd Burleson; her second husband, Everett Morton; her father, Walter Chaney Clark; her mother, Nealie Ezella Hathcock Clark; sons Ralph Olen Burleson and Monte Floyd Burleson; sisters Leona Barbee and Bertha Sossamon, and brother Artis Clark.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Burleson Thompson of Ellerbe; sister Erma Furr of Locust; grandchildren Chris Thompson of Ellerbe, Chad Thompson of Ellerbe, Matthew Burleson of Marshville, Patrick Burleson of Marshville, Collin Burleson of Indian Trail, Brandi Burleson Allred of Laurinburg, Victoria Burleson of Laurinburg and great granddaughter Isabel Marie Burleson of Marshville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anderson Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle with Rev. Ronald Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
