Mary Stifflemire Tyson, 63, of Corpus Christi, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 1999 at Memorial South East Hospital in Houston.

She was born August 31, 1936 in San Gabriel, Texas to Elmer and Iris (O'Bier) Stifflemire and was raised in San Gabriel, later residing in Pearland, Texas for 28 years, in Corpus Christi, and for the past year in Bacliff, Texas. She was married in Mexico on September 14, 1955 to Perry Doyle Tyson. Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Doyle Tyson of Bacliff; sons, David Tyson and wife Jackie of Pearland, Robert Tyson and wife Shelly of Milano, and Mike Tyson of Bacliff; brothers, Charles Stifflemire and wife Phyllis of Alvin, Johnny Stifflemire and wife Patricia of Somerville, Larry Stifflemire and wife Becky of Caldwell, and Eddie Stifflemire and wife Elane of Caldwell; sisters, Patsy Hodde of Lytton Springs, Nora Moore and husband J.V. of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Jannell Kuempel and husband Jack of Round Rock, and Georgia Allen and husband Kevin of Lexington; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Interment was September 10, in Knobbs Springs Cemetery near Lexington.
